A high-performance SVS tower The new Ultra Evolution speaker line from SVS includes three tower speaker offerings. The Ultra Evolution Titan is slightly smaller than the flagship Pinnacle , but you can expect similarly impressive performance in the Titan. Early reviews describe a neutral, clear presentation with deep, controlled bass that works great in a stereo system or as part of multi-channel home theater. Thoughtfully designed cabinet This SVS tower has several design features that add up to a true-to-life listening experience. A curved front baffle ensures the sound from all drivers reaches your ears at the same time, and the cabinet is engineered to resist resonances that can introduce sound coloration. New tweeter design delivers airy highs The redesigned 1″ tweeter is diamond-coated aluminum with a lattice diffuser which results in airy, effortless highs, seamless blending with the midrange, and a large listening sweet spot. And with the tweeter centered between the woofers and midrange drivers, all tones blend together creating a “point-source” – sound emanates from a single point in front of the speaker to optimize dispersion characteristics. Front- and rear-firing woofers The glass-fiber woofers are arranged in what SVS calls Force Balanced Array. Two 6-1/2″ woofers are mounted on the front of the tower, and two are mounted on the back, so deep bass is spread evenly throughout your room. A pair of 4-1/2″ woofers flanking the tweeter share a dedicated acoustic suspension enclosure and dish out precise midrange. This is a bass-reflex design, with two ports on the rear panel. So, don’t put it right against the wall; you’ll get better bass response if you give the speaker some “breathing room.” Got wire? Most speakers don’t include any.
