An enveloping cinematic experience The Cinema 50 has outputs for 11 speakers, and can power up to nine at the same time. Use all nine channels in a 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos or DTS:X? system. Or, go with a more conventional surround sound setup, and repurpose the extra channels for sound in another room. Marantz has included four subwoofer outputs on its premium receivers this year. Your most bass-heavy music and rumbling movie soundtracks will have exciting new depth. Using multiple powered subs obviously gives you more bass, but also more balanced bass. Choose the “Standard” subwoofer setting for evenly distributed bass performance throughout the room, or “Directional” to tailor each sub’s bass performance to the closest speaker. The Cinema 50’s high-powered amplifier can drive just about any power-hungry speakers with authority. It’s rated at a significant 110 watts per channel (2-channels driven).
